I'm Julio Castro, a fullstack developer based in Diest, Belgium. Castro Consultancy is the independent practice I started in 2025 after earning my degree in full stack development. Through it, I build web applications, AI-powered tools, and SaaS platforms for businesses ready to grow.
I work across the full stack — product flows, interface details, data models, server logic, integrations, and deployment. Most current projects use Next.js, TypeScript, Postgres or Supabase, and increasingly AI-assisted workflows.
The work spans student projects from before graduation, like Pitstop and CarbWatch, to post-graduation client and company work like GetMike, scanapp, Temporal Workers, and LokaalGroei.
Technology is the means.
Progress is the goal.
I started Castro Consultancy right after graduating because I wanted a practice built around clear ownership: one person close to the product, architecture, interface, data, and delivery. The goal is simple: useful software, shipped carefully, with enough discipline to last.

I use AI-assisted coding as leverage: faster drafting, sharper comparisons, and less repetitive work. It speeds up production, but it does not replace technical judgment.
Speed where it helps.
AI helps me explore implementation options, draft repetitive code, refactor safely, generate test cases, and move through documentation faster. The value is momentum, not magic.
Responsibility stays human.
Architecture, data modelling, security, accessibility, code review, and final decisions stay with me. My AI workflow sits inside a written process with project context, constraints, linting, types, tests, builds, and manual review.
From school projects to client platforms.
Built pre-graduation projects
Movie Index App sharpened React fundamentals with TMDB search and Appwrite trends. CarbWatch was an Angular team project where I worked as front-end developer and Scrum Master.
Graduated with Pitstop
Pitstop was my graduation project: a Laravel service-case platform for mechanics to document work, generate quotes, email PDFs, and let customers approve repairs.
Founded Castro Consultancy
I started the company immediately after graduating, focused on web applications, AI-powered tools, SaaS platforms, and one serious engagement at a time.
Moved into client product work
GetMike grew into a multi-tenant AI sales and help desk platform for B2B wholesale. scanapp added a mobile-first barcode scanner and order-building flow against NopCommerce.
Built the GetMike data backbone
A retry-safe TypeScript Temporal worker package now syncs ERP and commerce data into Supabase, builds embeddings, and keeps GetMike's AI workflows fed with reliable data.
Joined LokaalGroei as engineering partner
LokaalGroei is a managed-service SaaS for local SMBs: scan, audit, subscribe, then improve websites, local visibility, reviews, and growth work over time.
Consistency you

Open-source work, client delivery, product experiments, and review habits all leave a trail. This pulls directly from GitHub and refreshes through the server cache.
